Stretch line over the entire length. Drive the stakes at approximately |
Intermediate stakes are driven to the bottom of the line at approximately 2 foot centers. Use extra precaution to see that the stakes are aligned. |
Hang KEY-LOC ® JOINT on stakes and push downward. KEY-LOCK ® JOINT AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS in place. |

Install “snap-in” joint splice. Splice gives perfect alignment of joint ends, no more need to try and place stakes at joint butts for alignment. |
Knockouts are provided at 6” centers along the joint for dowels or rebar penetration. The knockouts should be bent to approximately 45 degrees into the pour to act as anchors, especially when Key-Loc ® is used as a shut-off. Install stake clip when it is necessary to pour on the stake side first. |
When a strip is placed and finished, there are no added and costly steps of cutting, joint treatment, form stripping, edge damage or concrete surface damage. Spalling and edge curling have been minimized. |
